A new church launching in 2026
We are preparing to plant a new church in Tweed.
Under God, City on a Hill Tweed will launch as a church in 2026. We are convinced that to reach the Tweed region with the gospel, Christians need to play their part in sharing Jesus, and existing churches need to multiply and new churches must be planted. The call of Jesus rings true now, as ever: “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.” – Luke 10:2.
With easy access to beautiful coastal towns and beaches as well as the hinterland and mountains, the Tweed promises a joyful, easy-going, slow-paced lifestyle, and a relaxed, friendly vibe that is both family focused and welcoming to visitors. Many embrace a restful lifestyle centred on outdoor living – beaches, waterways, surfing, fishing, cycling and community markets.
In many ways Tweed offers a good life, and yet we know there’s more to life. True and lasting rest is not found in a place, but a person: the person of Jesus, who gave himself up to death so we could live. Life changing rest is not found in a place but in God – the one who made us and who wants us to know him and enjoy him forever. There’s much to love about Tweed, but with Jesus, there’s more.
In a region marked by movement and growth, we believe there is a deeper, truer source of life — a river that makes glad the city of God (Psalm 46:4). As the Tweed changes and expands, we’re planting a church that invites people to come and find lasting joy and eternal life in Jesus.

1. Visit a launch community gathering
We meet every few weeks to cast vision, train, and pray ahead of our public launch in November. If you’re keen to get involved, we’d love you to join this group for details about the next gathering.
2. Join us in prayer
Pray that God would raise up a launch team full of faith, love and unity — and that many in the foothills would come to know Jesus.
3. Connect with us
Whether you’re new to the area or looking for a church to call home, we’d love to hear from you. Jimmy would be glad to meet up, share more about the vision, and shout you a coffee.
