Gold Coast Break the Nets Campaign

“Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” –Jesus

In Luke 5, Jesus tells Peter to cast his nets after a long night of catching nothing. Peter obeys, and the result is a miraculous catch so great that the nets begin to break and the boats start to sink.

We long to see God move like this among us—not simply achieving what good strategy can accomplish, but seeing people meet Jesus, respond to the hope of the gospel, and find life in his name.

As City on a Hill Gold Coast celebrates six years, we’re stepping into a new season of growth and greater generosity. For the first time City on a Hill Gold Coast will not be dependent on external support, but will, God willing, be self-sustaining financially. But we are praying and believing for more!

We’re trusting God for $100,000 to expand our capacity to reach and make disciples, strengthen our gospel partnerships and invest in church planting.

This is more than we can accomplish in our own strength, But God is able to do immeasurably more! Would you prayerfully partner with us? Whatever your capacity, give boldly, and pray with us for Jesus to break the nets.

Seed fund Discipleship Minister

We are seeing new people walk through our door every week, some looking for a church and others looking for Jesus. A Discipleship Minister will enable us to ensure we are equipped to see these people, and our existing church family, discipled and empowered to be disciple makers themselves.

City on a Hill Tweed support

Church planting is the most effective means given by God for reaching the lost. We have recently sent out a team to plant City on a Hill Tweed. Your giving will enable them to focus on the vital work of reaching the Tweed with the beauty, truth and relevance of Jesus.

Seed fund Outreach Director

Jesus said the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few, in our city there are hundreds of thousands of people who don’t yet know Jesus, and he is sending us to preach the gospel to them. An Outreach Director will sharpen our mission together and ensure every member of our church is equipped and encouraged to reach the lost people God has placed in their life.

Perrett’s in Namibia (CMS) partnership

Jonty, Beth and the boys left our church 12 months ago to prepare for this exciting work of training pastors in Namibia. Jesus’ great commission sends us out to make disciples of all nations and we are so excited that he has raised them up as workers for his harvest field. Your giving will enable the training of many pastors and gospel workers in Africa.

Mercy Ministry Expansion

Jesus loves the least of these. Since launching City Heart earlier this year, the needs and opportunities to love and serve vulnerable people have only increased. We have a vision to multiply our existing ministry to new days and locations, but we need your support.

GCS Partnership (Uni Ministry)

University ministry is hugely strategic as it connects with and disciples young adults who are making major decisions about who they want to be and what they want to do with their life. It is a joy to be able to invest in this frontline ministry.

How do I know my gift will be used wisely?
All the money raised will be overseen by the finance committee of the City on a Hill movement and will be used for the purpose which it is given.
I can only give a small amount, is it worth giving?
Absolutely. The amount given is not what matters, it is the heart behind the giving that counts. And every little bit helps reach people with the good news of the gospel.
Is my giving tax deductible?
No. Gifts to the Break the Nets campaign are not tax deductible.

God is not finished with us yet

Our story has always been one of God’s provision and powerful presence. He has used our weakness to display his perfect power, our dependence to show his faithfulness. Regardless of how big or small we are, our heart will always be to reach the city, to make disciples, to walk forward in obedience and faith and to treasure Jesus above all else.
